New Novels in Progress

I'm currently working on 2 new novels. Here are descriptions of the works in progress:

Cry of the Wampus Cat

Two hundred years ago, Kasa, a young American-Indian woman, did not trust her husband. She suspected that while he was on hunting trips, he was seeing another woman. One night, she decided to spy on her husband. Placing the hide of a mountain cat on her back for camouflage, she crept through the woods in search of the truth. She came upon a camp fire and saw her husband making love to another woman. As pain, shock and jealousy raced through Kasa's body, the other woman sensed her presence. Chanting an ancient curse, the woman transformed Kasa into a wampus cat—half woman, half mountain cat. Legends say that the children of Kasa still walk the hills of Virginia, Tennessee, and West Virginia, inflicting vengeance on cheating husbands. Is this just an old Appalachian myth? Or could it be true?

Due out in the Spring of 2011.

13 Bells

On a lazy Saturday afternoon, four college students take a tour of the famous Washington Cathedral located in the affluent Georgetown section of Washington, D.C. During the tour, they learn of an old superstition that has been ignored for ages. Apparently, if you ring a church bell 13 times during the darkest of night, every gargoyle within the sound of the bell will come alive and wreak havoc until dawn. Mischief, mayhem and murder will run rampant through the city. Would you have the courage to ring the bell?

Due out in the Fall of 2011.

Current Novels - Lazarus Kaine and Gevaudan

For those of you who don't know me as an author, my first horror novel is called Lazarus Kaine. It's the story of a man who loses control of his fears. Here's a short description:

Let wicked images of unadulterated terror rip through your imagination as Joel Eden unleashes a creature that lives in the mind of every human being - fear itself.

Matt Curtis, a senior manager with a consulting company, is buried underneath a truckload of self-doubt. His personal life is falling apart, and his job is like quicksand, threatening to swallow him at any moment. His ultimate fear is being alone, and that fear has come to call in the form of a supernatural creature - a tall, slender man wearing a black suit and answering to the name Lazarus Kaine.

On a mission to terrorize Curtis, Kaine removes one woman after another from Curtis's life through a series of brutal murders that leave police baffled and Curtis looking suspect. Curtis must decide whether he will stand idly by and let Kaine systematically dismantle his life and kill innocent women in the process or muster the courage to wrestle his fear and use it to his advantage.

Bizarre murders, intense sexual intrigue, and reckless psychological twists will make you sleep with the lights on. After you read this book, every time you see a shadow move, you'll think about Lazarus Kaine.

My second novel is called Gevaudan. This horror book explores the existence of the werewolves of Jacksonville County. Here's a short description:

In the secluded mountains of Jacksonville County, Virginia, a covered bridge stretches across the Bellamont River. No one has crossed the bridge in twenty years. Some people believe that gigantic werewolves with retractable claws and razor-sharp fangs live on the other side. Would you have the courage to cross the bridge?

On a warm August night, three teenagers, Jared Baker, Harold Prioleau, and Chase Avignone make a trip to the covered bridge. But only Harold and Chase return home. What happened to Jared?

Chase Avignone is a high school football star with a secret. He’s bigger, faster, and stronger than everyone else on the field. Why? Is he taking steroids? Human growth hormone? Or is there some other reason why he’s such a beast on the gridiron?

When Jacksonville police detectives Logan Michaels and Cai Nguyen delve into Jared’s disappearance, their investigation leads them to Chase Avignone and his shocking secret.

Are the werewolves of Jacksonville County real or are they just an urban legend? You’ll have to cross the bridge to find the truth.

Both of my novels are available at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and many other fine retailers. They are also available for the Amazon Kindle and many other mobile eBook readers.
